PLEDGE

“I pledge to be aware of the insensitive & discriminatory statements I use, intentionally or unintentionally, and to change the culture surrounding mental health within my community”

MISSION

Log Kya Kahenge (what will people say?!) Campaign is to encourage everyone to pay attention to their behaviour towards others and foster a supportive and empathetic environment around themselves. The campaign aims to create a "plot twist" by bringing an end to the stigmatized culture around mental health so that all of those in need receive the care and support they deserve.

We aim to beat the need to comply with the set societal standards and eliminate subtle tones of judgement that are thrown around casually, causing deeper marks on our psychological well being. Our aim is to reach out to people "across the globe" where we stand strong against the odds of Log Kya Kahenge. Mental health is as important as physical health.

"Together, as a community let’s commit to change the way we all think and act, when it comes to mental health"

TAKE THE PLEDGE

FOUNDER'S NOTE

Growing up in certain societies, we all would have been victims of the phrase “Log Kya Kahenge" (LKK). The brutal truth is that “LKK” has killed many dreams and ambitions. For years, we have dealt with the aftermath of living in a society that is devoid of comprehensive knowledge of mental health. We have compromised at home, we have ‘let things slide’ at work, we have ‘just let go’ on social occasions and upped our tolerance - rather than taking a stand, and nipping this virus at its bud.

BUT NOT ANYMORE!
Invalidation - the physical form of LKK is one of the most damaging forms of emotional abuse, since it is so subtle. Although these statements seem helpful, they are actually denying the person of their feelings and emotions.

What if, we all lived in a world, where we were inclusive of each other,
inclusive of the way we feel, the way we want to be, our difference of
opinions and different perspectives. What if we didn’t have to be afraid to
take that mental day off work, because we needed it - what if we didn’t have to be afraid of seeking therapy, just because we were scared of what our family would think? What if we were free, to let our mind heal?
